La tradition d'accueil du Lycée Ravel se confirme. Après avoir reçu en 2025 des groupes venus de Lettonie et du Portugal (photographie ci-dessus) l'équipe luzienne a été visitée par une école secondaire  de Biscaye en janvier puis en mars.

Deux professeurs du BHI Arratia à Igorre ont en efet effectué un stage d'observation au Lycée Ravel les jeudi 26 et vendredi 27 mars.

Il s'agissait pour eux d'une activité de "Job shadowing" dans le cadre de l'action clé-1 du programme ERASMUS+ visant notamment à étudier les méthodes d'enseignement des langues en France et les collaborations internationales mises en oeuvre par l'équipe locale.

Outre l'enseignant référent, M Vanderplancke, les professeurs suivants ont accueilli leurs collègues dans leur cours : Mmes Licq et Susperregui et M Besse-Miquelena. 

Le stage s'est terminé par une visioconférence à laquelle ont pris part, outre le Lycée Ravel et la délégation d'igorren des représentants des lycées espagnols de Beasain, Basauri et Pampelune (impliqués dans l'eTwinning PALDIES) et d'autres collègues, issus d'écoles secondaires  situées à Rome, Esslingen et Montijo.

On a discuté notamment des activités à développer en 2026 et 2027 pour prolonger le projet FIGHT FOR FREEDOM (co-piloté par la ligue ILARGIA) et de la participation de nos voisins du Pays Basque méridional et des partenaires du projet Be.Bo.P comme de l'équipe du Lycée polonais de Kwidzin à la semaine ERASMUS MOB prévue à la Pentecôte et au colloque MUGA Genius 2026.

Il a également été question de la valorisation des compétences acquises dans le cadre des partenariats européens (notamment grâce à la labellisation de SMUN en 2025) et des candidatures communes pouvant être travaillées dans l'avenir (le thème de l'empathie apparaissant comme une piste intéressante).

Two teachers from BHI Arratia in Igorre completed an observation placement at Lycée Ravel on Thursday, March 26th and Friday, March 27th.

This was a "job shadowing" activity for them, part of Key Action 1 of the ERASMUS+ program, which aims to study language teaching methods in France and the international collaborations implemented by the local team.

In addition to the supervising teacher, Mr. Vanderplancke, the following teachers welcomed their colleagues into their classes: Ms. Licq, Ms. Susperregui, and Mr. Besse-Miquelena.

The placement concluded with a videoconference attended by representatives from Lycée Ravel and the Igorre delegation, as well as representatives from the Spanish high schools of Beasain, Basauri, and Pamplona (involved in the PALDIES eTwinning project), and other colleagues from secondary schools in Rome, Esslingen, and Montijo.

We discussed, in particular, the activities to be developed in 2026 and 2027 to extend the FIGHT FOR FREEDOM project (co-led by the ILARGIA league) and the participation of our neighbors from the Southern Basque Country and the partners of the Be.Bo.P project, as well as the team from the Polish High School in Kwidzin, in the ERASMUS MOB week planned for Pentecost and the MUGA Genius 2026 conference.

We also discussed the recognition of skills acquired within the framework of European partnerships (notably through SMUN's accreditation in 2025) and joint applications that could be developed in the future (the theme of empathy appearing as a promising avenue).

La participation de notre association de professeurs européens - la "ligue ILARGIA" basée au Lycée Ravel de Saint-Jean-de-Luz, où elle a été créée en 2018 - aux commémorations de l'opération ARIEL a été labellisée. Il s'agissait d'organiser la réception d'une collègue polonaise (venue avec une étudiante) dans le cadre des cérémonies du 18 juin, et à l'occasion d'une conférence trilatérale des parties prenantes du projet interscolaire européen ACMÉ RESISTANCE - lequel n'est pas supporté par l'Union Européenne - ceci en vue d'organiser des échanges entre lycéens sur le thème de la défense des Libertés, l'Histoire et la Mémoire, et de valoriser l'histoire commune de la France et la Pologne dans le contexte local).    

ACMÉ RESISTANCE "Fight for Freedom" is valorized by a label given today by French authorities concerning the participation of the ILARGIA League and High SChools from Saint Jean de Luz (Lycée Ravel) and Kwidzyn in the celebrations of the Second World War. At the same time all the ACMÉ RESISTANCE members were in the meeting ACROSS BORDER (IRL with Polish and French representatives: from southen Basque Country #Beasain (BHI) #Basauri (BHI) #Pamplona (IES Plaza DeLa Cruz) / remotely involved Baldones vidduskola (Latvia) and Colegiul Economic Iulian Pop (Cluj-Napoca, Romania).

D'ors et déjà, la réception de lycéens Poméraniens (de la ville de Kwidzyn / Społeczne Liceum im. Polskich Noblistów w Kwidzynie) est prévue en mai 2025 - après qu'une délégation luzienne se sera rendue en Pologne aux environs de Pâques, en principe, et grâce au programme ERASMUS+ mis en oeuvre au Lycée Ravel. L'ambition de la Ligue est de faire travailler ensemble dans le cadre d'une éducation à la citoyenneté des écoles secondaires européennes, mais également des associations et d'autres institutions publiques. Elle est soutenue par la Ville, M le Maire ayant notamment convié la Ligue et son invitée lors des cérémonies officielles du  18 juin dernier. 

The participation of our association of European teachers - the "ILARGIA league" based at the Lycée Ravel in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, where it was created in 2018 - in the commemorations of Operation ARIEL was recognized. The aim was to organize the reception of a Polish colleague as part of the June 18 ceremonies, and on the occasion of a trilateral conference of the parties involved in the European interschool project ACMÉ RESISTANCE - which is not supported by the European Union - with a view to organizing exchanges between high schools on the theme of the defense of Freedoms, History and Memory, and to promote the common history of France and Poland in the local context.

The reception of Pomeranian high school students (from the town of Kwidzyn) is already planned for May 2025 after a Luzian delegation will have visited Poland thanks to ERASMUS+ accreditation's funds (certainly around Easter). The League's ambition is to bring together European secondary schools, but also associations and other public institutions, within the framework of citizenship education. It is supported by the City, the Mayor having notably invited the League and its guest during the official ceremonies of June 18th.

Pour le Lycée Ravel, la labellisation de l'événement de commémoration co-organisé avec la Ligue est de bon augure.

L'établissement souhaite en effet s'investir durablement dans une action d'éducaton à la citoyenneté et au Devoir de Défense et  mise sur son réseau de partenaires en Pologne (Kwidzyn, Gdynia) comme dans d'autres PECO (Riga, CLuj-Napoca) pour développer des projets en rapport avec l'étude historique des totalitarismes, étude qui intéresse par ailleurs également ses homologues espagnols.

Cette action s'inscrirait par ailleurs dans une coopération locale avec la Ville et des associations.

6th general assembly of the ILARGIA LEAGUE of European Teachers - reports and game changers

 

L'Assemblée Générale ordinaire du 23 juin 2023 s'est réunie à Getaria. 40 adhérents se trouvaient à jour de leur cotisation et étaient donc suceptibles de prendre part aux travaux et de s'exprimer, en direct ou à distance. 27 membres ont participé aux votes (11 ayant donné procuration à cette fin).

   

L'AG a confirmé toutes les adaptations déjà discutées dans le cadre du CA pour rendre la LIGUE ILARGIA capable de porter un projet ERASMUS+  voire faciliter son intervention en tant qu'intermédiaire chargé de gérer les subventions forfaitaires payées par le Lycée Ravel (ou toute école secondaire qui en ferait la demande et dont le Bureau jugerait que celle-ci est recevable).

Le rapport moral a été approuvé à l'unanimité et l'on a discuté par ailleurs de l'avenir (un colloque moins improvisé que celui mis en place en juin est prévu l'an prochain: ce pourrait être l'occasion de retourner en Catalogne si l'ACESC le souhaite)

The Ordinary General Meeting of June 23, 2023 met in Getaria. 40 members were up to date with their dues and were therefore likely to take part in the work and express themselves, live or remotely. 27 members took part in the votes (11 having given power of attorney for this purpose).

     

 

The GA confirmed all the adaptations already discussed within the framework of the CA to make the ILARGIA LEAGUE capable of carrying out an ERASMUS+ project or even facilitating its intervention as an intermediary responsible for managing the lump sum grants paid by the Lycée Ravel (or any school secondary school which requests it and which the Bureau seems to be admissible).

        

     

The moral report was unanimously approved and we also discussed the future (a less improvised symposium than the one set up in June is planned for next year: this could be an opportunity to return to Catalonia if the ACESC wishes)

It is recommended to dress in black and red during local festivals, almost everyone does it: plan appropriate clothing!

Sea bathing Season

Take your bathing suit with you; it is always possible to enjoy the beach in Saint Jean de Luz, as in Getaria or even in Biarritz. Be careful, however, in Biarritz as in general as soon as you cannot find a bay: the ocean can be dangerous (currents, swells, etc.)

Lycée Ravel european staff (MM Puyjalon and Vanderplancke) met this morning with two representatives who had come especially from Spain, Ms Etchenique (from the department responsible for the internationalisation of education in Navarre) and Ms Renteria (delegated by the same existing department in Euskadi). The meeting took place in the premises of the Youth Service, in the presence of its Director, Mr Hériteau, and Mr Boivin, municipal representative for Youth Prevention. The purpose of the workshop was :

Mesdames Renteria and Etchenique

1. to act on the evolution of cooperation partnerships for school education within the framework of action - key 2 of the Erasmus+ programme (an evolution that should lead us in the long term to formalise the relations that exist between our structures and the support that the local authorities and administrations - such as the DRAREIC at the Rectorat - already give to our school).

The possibility was raised of including the structures represented as associated partners in future European cooperation and of bringing them closer to some existing mechanisms such as the Euroregion or the cross-border projects between New Aquitaine and the Spanish autonomous communities. The representative from Navarre insisted, in particular, on the importance of the INTERREG programme and the POFECTA project for her community. The municipality confirmed its commitment and its support for the European and international opening of the Lycée Ravel, and the teachers indicated that the question of involving the Agglo should, in their opinion, be taken on the initiative of the municipality, if it seemed it relevant.
